Consiste en la alteración de la fuente Verdana, a la cual se le elimina parte de su superficie por medio de minúsculos puntos blancos. Estas “perforaciones” reducen nada menos que un veinte por ciento la cantidad de tinta o toner empleado al imprimirla con el consiguiente beneficio ambiental y económico. Su increíble capacidad para crear objetos que hacen sonreir a la inteligencia se basa en poner cada cosa donde va, de un modo que parece obvio. Para los que se esfuerzan en diferenciar gráfico de industrial, la cosa se complica. Varias de sus piezas consisten en la creación de un sentido antes que de un objeto. Su proyecto más reciente se llama Brandtags y es más que interesante. Partiendo de que una marca es lo que la gente piensa y dice de ella (idea que suscribimos plenamente), el sitio muestra marcas al azar (o permite incluir otras) y el visitante debe adjudicarles espontáneamente un “tag”. Los resultados son exhibidos luego de modo ordenado y para todos los que trabajamos con marcas resulta muy provechoso analizarlos. Entre tanto brillo 2.0, los pictos de Sockwell resultan actuales pero sobrios, aunque bien podrían discutirse un poco algunas disonancias dentro del sistema. Se llamaba Sol Solet y era la versión gráfica de un espectáculo del grupo Comediants. Realizado ente lo industrial y lo artesanal, el libro era un increíble despliegue visual de talento, sensibilidad y buen gusto. Hoy, Sol Solet es prácticamente inconseguible, pero para seguir juntando el placer de los ojos con el del corazón, existe el Cirque du Soleil.
